Here's an article of mine at my blog, coveredinbees - 3000(ish) words comparing three landscapes: a small area of New South Wales in Australia, the slopes of Bali and the birthplace of the potato in the Andes. Each has a story to tell about how we manage environmental problems in an emergent way. This is blatant self-promotion, but I understand that's encouraged in academia these days. Here's the post -

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I like blog writing because it allows a more personal and speculative take on things that would be frowned upon in any peer-reviewed setting. I reckon it might be an important tool for open source academic production because of this (though my supervisors would probably like it if I got round to writing an actual paper or my PhD at some point, I imagine...) Thoughts, again, gratefully received.
